Vision of SVBTCC
Sri Venkateshwara (Balaji) Temple & Cultural Centre (SVBTCC) envisions creating an iconic “Balaji Village” in and around London centred on a temple dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara (Balaji).
The vision is to serve as a spiritual, cultural, social, and yoga centre that promotes Hindu Sanatana Dharma while reflecting the multicultural connection between Bharat and England.
SVBTCC also aims to leave a lasting cultural and spiritual heritage for future generations while fostering devotion, service, harmony, and community wellbeing.
How We Started — Background
Like a small seed growing into a strong and beautiful tree, the idea of starting this temple in London began in a very humble way.
On 14 April 2018, Dr Venkatesham Guduguntla first brought together a few devotees at his home to discuss the vision of creating a temple for the community.
The attendees of that historic first meeting included:
From that small gathering, a remarkable spiritual journey began.
The response from the community was immediate and overwhelming. Within hours of creating the first WhatsApp group, it reached full capacity and another group had to be started. It became clear that many devotees shared the same dream and devotion.
A dedicated core team soon formed, bringing together people from many professional backgrounds including legal, medical, IT, business, and other fields.
United by faith and service, they decided on the temple’s name, formed a not-for-profit organisation, and each person contributed their own time, effort, and money to help build the foundation of the temple.
One of the first major events organised was the Balaji Kalyanam in June 2018, which attracted more than 800 devotees.
The success of this event gave great encouragement to everyone involved and strengthened the belief that this vision would continue to grow.
Although the journey started with great energy, the COVID pandemic slowed progress for a period of time. However, the devotion and determination of the devotees never stopped. The team continued their efforts with faith and commitment.
With the blessings of the Lord and the support of the community, a building was eventually purchased as an important step towards establishing a permanent temple.
From 2024 onwards, the temple began operating on a full scale and today it continues to grow as one of the leading Indian temples in London, especially serving the community in West London.
What started as a simple idea discussed in a family home has today become a spiritual home for thousands of devotees — built through faith, unity, dedication, and community support.
Our Deities — First Vision
The positivity, faith, and determination behind this mission were so powerful that nothing felt impossible.
Driven by devotion and a shared vision, a few members of the core team personally travelled to Kumbakonam alongside skilled craftsmen to help bring the temple’s sacred moorthis to life.
In an extraordinary act of commitment, several devotees offered their own personal gold jewellery and sacred items to be melted and included in the making of the moorthis.
These were not just donations, but heartfelt offerings made with love, prayer, and complete faith in the temple’s future.
What began as a dream in the hearts of a few devotees slowly became a living reality through unity, sacrifice, and unwavering belief.
Even when challenges arose, the community stood together with strength and positivity, proving that when people come together with pure intention and devotion, great things can be achieved.
With blessings, hard work, and dedication, the beautifully crafted moorthis were brought all the way to the United Kingdom.
Today, they are worshipped by thousands of devotees and continue to inspire generations as a symbol of faith, service, and the power of collective devotion.
Medium-Term Vision & Future
As part of its medium-term goals, the temple premises were purchased in Bracknell with the support and generous donations received from devotees.
This would not have been possible without their belief in SVBTCC’s vision and mission.
Today, the temple continues to serve communities across the UK through spiritual, cultural, educational, and social activities.
SVBTCC is now progressing towards its long-term goal of establishing the Balaji Village and is actively searching for suitable land for this purpose.
The aim is to create a lasting spiritual and cultural heritage for future generations while fostering devotion, service, harmony, and community wellbeing.

We have purchased a suitable building for the temple in Bracknell Town Centre, which has been operational since April 2024. Whilst running the temple and cultural centre in Bracknell, we are actively looking for 20 to 30 acre land in & around the West London region for constructing the Balaji Temple complex.
